Roehampton is located near Barnes, Putney and Wimbledon Common to the south. Also situated near the great Royal Park of Richmond, the largest of the London parks, where you can see deer roaming in herds throughout the day, especially at dawn and dusk. Roehampton became popular as a residential area in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries after Putney Bridge was opened in 1729. The area also included a large number of private estates, with some of these still surviving to this day, including Roehampton House.
Putney is situated in the London Borough of Wandsworth in the south-west part of london. Putney lies by the Thames River and is famous for its rowing centre, with more than 20 rowing clubs located in the Putney Embankment area. Some of these include London Rowing Club and the Thames Rowing Club. Nearby is Putney Heath, Barnes Common and the London Wetland Centre.
